A group of globally-acclaimed art historians, artists, curators and museum directors are converging at Qatar’s Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art on March 14. Art personalities, including Chris Dercon, the newly appointed director of London’s Tate Modern, will participate in the first leg of Art Dubai’s Global Art Forum_5. After the inaugural day’s programme at Mathaf, the event is to be held in Dubai from March 16 to 18. The Forum is under the theme ‘Changing Audiences.’ The Global Art Forum is described as the leading platform for cultural debate and discussion in the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia region. This is the Forum’s first year at Mathaf and its third edition in Doha, with the previous two years hosted at the Museum of Islamic Art.
